Why do we get Error Code 141 while updating Dongle license?

Dongle Field Exchange Utility can give Error Code 141 while trying to update the Geo SCADA Expert/ClearSCADA dongle license.


Error Code 141 means that the dongle did not accept the code, which can be for any of the normal reasons - missing characters, extra characters or wrong key inserted
  • Check the key was carefully copied and pasted. Copy the key into Notepad and ensure no extra characters exist.
  • Make sure multiple dongles are not inserted.
  • Check that the right dongle is inserted.
If it still doesn't work, the key may have been generated incorrectly. Request a new one be generated and provide a new locking code.
