What is the “Global/Local” switch for on the rear of the 755PSMA2 smoke alarm?

This switch is specifically for use with the 755RB relay base only. It defines how the relay in the 755RB will operate. The smoke alarm can be configured so the relay in the base operates only when the local alarm is activated (Local switch position) or when any interconnected alarm activates (Global switch position).

What is the function of the local/global switch on 755PSMA2 and 755RLPSMA2?

Both the 755PSMA2 and 755RLPSMA2 smoke alarms have a ‘Global / Local’ switch located on them (see the diagram below). This switch is only used for operation with the 755RB
relay mounting base.
• When the ‘Global / Local’ switch is set to ‘Local’, only activation of the physically connected alarm will cause the relay to operate.
• When the ‘Global / Local’ switch is set to ‘Global’, activation of any smoke alarm that is interconnected with the base causes the relay to operate.
• The default setting is ‘Global’.
