Clipsal Solis™ Collection: the design story
Discover more about the design story behind Clipsal Solis Collection. Its refined form, functionality, and premium finishes are backed by Schneider Electric’s world-leading engineering, making Solis the new quality choice for design professionals.
Tim Turrini-Rochford, Schneider Electric’s VP Design Asia Pacific, says work on Solis was careful and considered as it had to meet a market need for a beautiful, functional product that could sit easily in high-end projects for specifiers, while satisfying the technical requirements of electricians and delighting residential homeowners.
Solis T Series is available in Ebony Aluminium (EA), Platinum (PT), Living Brass (LB) and White Ceramic (WC).
Solis is available in Matte White (ZW) & Matte Black (ZB).
Yes - The Connected Socket comes in Zigbee Mode by default and will require the Wiser Hub for pairing and connection.
No, the Solis and Solis T series socket outlet with USB only comes with the single USB Type C Fast Charger.
The flush box recommended for timber frame homes is PDL144M4, which has a 120mm mounting centre.
The wall box recommended for solid brick homes is 157PRM4, which has a 120mm mounting centre.
The C-Clip recommended for walls that are 10mm thick is a 154C4, which has a 120mm mounting centre.
The cover can be carefully removed by levering from the wall to release the metal clips.
Switches and power points should only be cleaned using a detergent solution mixed with warm water (Damp cloth).
Detergent-impregnated wipes may also be used as a quick and convenient cleaning option.
Homeowners should NOT use household cleaning sprays as chemical sprays can attack the plastic materials and cause them to fail over time.
Do not use any abrasive materials to clean or wipe down the products as they can permanently damage the appearance of the surfaces.
Yes – C-Bus push-buttons use the same interface as Wiser push-buttons and will therefore work with the Wiser adaptors. However, switching off the LED is recommended if you use the C-Bus mechs, as it will not function using the adaptor. Follow the product instructions to turn the LED off.
No – The only switches that will fit Solis and Solis T Series are the 300 Series / Iconic Mechanism variants. The largest switching amperage in this range is the PDL380M32-VW at 32A. If a larger switching capability is required, you must use a contactor or a cooker switch from another range.
Yes – The standard Iconic push-button dimmer can be used with Solis and Solis T Series, but it is recommended that the LED is switched off as it will not function using the adaptor. Follow the product instructions to turn the LED off. Note that it can also not be used with a rotary adaptor.
No – The metallic plates are insulated and designed so that wiring or potential wiring does not touch the metal plate.
No – We only offer the “Cooker” push-button with marking. Please contact your local representative or our Customer Care Team to enquire about our engraving partners who might be able to help customise your product.
No – There are no current plans to sell them separately.
No – Unfortunately, the 3-position mechanisms, PDL387M3T-VW and PDLP387M3T-XW, do not fit into the Solis or Solis T Series range.
No – Unfortunately, the 4-position rotary mechanism, PDL387M4R, does not fit into the Solis range.
This is not advisable when the desired connection is for the push-button LED adaptor to reflect the status of the load as the LED won’t fully turn off. However, the push-button LED adaptor can be used with a dimmer when an always-on LED indication is desired.
We recommend using the Wiser ZigBee dimmer with the rotary adaptor.
Dimming the load can be achieved by either rotating or long pressing the knob of the rotary adaptor.
Rotating the knob clockwise will dim the load up and anticlockwise will dim the load down. Long pressing the knob will also dim the load up/down which will be dependent on the previous direction of dimming.
No, even if the cover plates are the same dimensions, using the alternate cover plate for the sockets will result in the product becoming non-compliant.
Yes, cardboard templates are provided as part of the product packaging alternatively, refer to the technical catalogue for a copy.
We recommend factory resetting the Wiser dimmer and then trying to pair it again. Factory reset is achieved by short-pressing the knob 3 times (<0.5s) and then long-pressing the knob once (>10s). After 10s the LED will blink red, then release the knob. Completion of factory reset will be indicated by the white LED on the adaptor blinking for 8 seconds.
No, the rotary Wiser dimmer adaptor is for the Wiser ZigBee Dimmer only.
